Clean desk policy- good or bad?

"Clean desk" or "messy worker"? Many consulting firms and other businesses have finally started focusing on neurodiversity. However, one thing is to focus, another is whether they merely focus or actually make accommodations for neurodiverse employees.

A small example is consulting firms' "clean desk policy," which many have implemented. This is a policy that works for most neurotypical people and which most don't think about. BUT, many people with ADHD are so-called "messy workers." Their desks are often extremely messy. Everything is scattered across the desk; sunglasses, pencils and pens, notebooks, water bottles, coffee cups, cola bottles, etc. The reason for this is that people with ADHD need to "see" all objects/things to remember that they "have them" or that "they are there." Their brain does not understand that objects/things exist if they are not visible. πŸ““πŸ“±πŸ’³πŸ–ŠοΈπŸ–‡οΈβœ‚οΈπŸ₯πŸ¬β˜•πŸπŸ«πŸ©πŸ«—β˜’οΈπŸ›„

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
